First of all, I would like to express my sincere thanks to the Martha Acosta Foundation for their invaluable support, which allowed me to attend the first PORCIFORUM event in Mexico. Without their support, my participation in this event would not have been possible. I consider it of utmost importance that support is provided to students to attend this type of event, as it allows us to learn first-hand about the current reality of the industry and the challenges we will face in our professional future.
It was particularly interesting to listen to experts from different countries and observe the attention they pay to Mexico in the field of swine farming. They recognize the great potential we have and, although progress has been made gradually, the new generations face multiple challenges that we must address together to find effective solutions.
All the presentations were extremely interesting. Personally, I found the ones related to biosecurity especially useful, as I am currently working in that field. There is no better way to learn than from the best, and this event gave me the opportunity to learn more about the implementation of Critical Control Points (CCP) on farms, Sanitation Standard Operating Procedures (POES), Training-Awareness-Culture (TAC) and the importance of water in swine farming
I am convinced that experiences like this not only enrich our knowledge, but also inspire us to contribute significantly to the development of the swine industry in Mexico. I look forward to applying what I have learned and to continue participating in future events that promote growth and innovation in our sector.
