During the second semester of 2023, the stipend ceremony was held for two students who were selected as winners by the University authorities of CUSur.
On November 6, 2023, the Martha Acosta Foundation awarded a new scholarship in honor of the MVZ’s trajectory. MC Elia Margarita Rodriguez Chavez. The celebration took place in Ciudad Guzmán, municipal seat of Zapotlán el Grande, Jalisco, through the Centro Universitario del Sur, in the Government Hall of that institution.
The decision of the winning students was defined by the educational authorities, who named Yaneli Hernández Flores and Jesús Antonio Morán Bautista, both students of the 8th semester of the Veterinary Medicine and Zootechnics career, winners of the MVZ Scholarship. Undoubtedly, the presence of the university authorities, representatives of the pork industry, family and friends was inspiring for such an exquisite event.

Representatives of the Pork Industry were present during the celebration of the event, expressing their support for the activities and projects of the Martha Acosta Foundation, they had the honor of receiving Dr. Jorge Iván Espinosa Vázquez, Director of the Regional Union of Pig Farmers of Jalisco; Dr. Luis Manuel Magallón Gómez, representing the Association of Veterinary Doctors Specializing in Pigs of the Highlands of Jalisco (AMVECAJ); Dr. Teodoro Miguel Merlos Barajas, representing the Mexican Association of Veterinary Specialists in Pigs (AMVEC) and the Association of Veterinary Doctors Specializing in Pigs of the West (AMVECO); the MVZ. Geovani de Jesús Hernández; Commercial technician of the company Visión Porcina and the MVZ. José Martín Córdoba Torres, Secretary of the Board of Directors of the Association of Pig Farmers of Ciudad Guzmán.
During the event, the use of the floor was given to Dr. Martha Acosta, who shared the vision of the foundation’s educational model, expressing three of the most important pillars; To honor an exceptional mentor, support students of veterinary medicine and animal husbandry and bring the talent of our future professionals to the swine industry.
Subsequently, Dr. José Guadalupe Salazar Estrada, Rector of the University Center, addressed a few words to those present, expressing his gratitude and recognizing the work done by the Foundation in favor of Pig Farming and the students of the different University Centers where stipends have been granted.
As a closing post, Mr. Marcos Manuel Macías, who served as Master of Ceremonies, read the summary of studies, merits, positions, awards and work experience that the MVZ has developed.
