The AASV Foundation will support with 2 Stipends of $ 2500.00 USD to scholars of the Martha Acosta Foundation to attend the 55th. American Association of Veterinary Swine (AASV) Annual Conference to be held February 24-27, 2024 in Nashville, Tennessee

We are proud to announce an unprecedented support from  the AASV Foundation  to the Martha Acosta Foundation. The AASV Foundation will award 2 Stipends of $2500.00 USD to scholars who will soon be selected by the Martha Acosta Foundation to attend the 55th. American Association of Veterinary Swine (AASV) Annual Conference to be held February 24-27, 2024 in Nashville, Tennessee

By that date the Martha Acosta Foundation will have awarded 9 stipends to 6 fellows to honor the following mentors: MVZ Ma. Del Consuelo Arana Flores, MVZ Ricardo Jiménez Rubio, MVZ Juan Manuel Magallón Mares, MVZ Irma Elizondo Espinoza, MVZ Elia Margarita Rodríguez Chávez. The scholarships honor distinguished University of Guadalajara Mentors who graduated from the University of Guadalajara’s School of Veterinary Medicine and Zootechnics. The MVZ Martha Alicia Acosta Padilla who is the Founder of both foundations has decided to support the Martha Acosta Foundation A.C. with 5 perennial Scholarships to honor mentors her Alma Mater the University of Guadalajara.

Soon the scholarship program will be extended with 5 scholarships for other universities in Mexico including UNAM, UAM and UNISON. In 2024 we will honor the professional life of the outstanding professionals: MVZ Laura Batista García graduated from the UNAM and the MVZ Adelfa del Carmen García Contreras graduated from the Autonomous Metropolitan University-Xochimilco Unit.

The winning scholars to date are MVZ Nohemí Torres González scholarship holder for 3 semesters and now graduated, Lizbeth Camarena Mojarás scholarship holder for 2 semesters, Ma. Ysabel Hernández Hernández scholarship holder for 2 semesters, José de Jesús González Franco, scholarship holder for 2 semesters and the new CUSUR scholarship holders with scholarships in their 1st. Semester who are Jesús Antonio Morán Bautista and Yaneli Hernández Flores, whose award ceremony will take place at CUSUR on November 6.

The AASV Foundation’s support of the Martha Acosta Foundation is invaluable. The board of directors of the AASV Foundation wishes to support the AASV Organization so that its membership grows with students who will become Veterinary Specialists in Pigs and who in the future belong to their Association already as Veterinarians. We will soon announce the winners of the AASV Foundation Stipends.
