On January 19 of this year, representatives of the Martha Acosta Foundation went to the University Center of Biological and Agricultural Sciences of the University of Guadalajara to deliver three more scholarships to outstanding students of veterinary medicine and zootechnics who have the desire to join the swine production sector.

University authorities led the award ceremony, with the valuable presence of Dr. David Román Sánchez Cyprus; Head of the Department of Public Health of the Division of Veterinary Sciences, Dr. Elia Margarita Rodríguez Chávez; Head of the Department of Veterinary Medicine and mentor of the 2023 Scholarship of the Centro Universitario del Sur (CUSur).

The LTS was also present. Yarely Valdés; Mexico Manager of the Martha Acosta Foundation, Lucia Martínez; Treasurer of the Martha Acosta Foundation.

During the ceremony, there was the virtual presence of representatives of the industry, members of the foundation, as well as the CEO of the foundation, Dr. Martha Acosta in her remote intervention thanked the university authorities for their constant support, mentioned the intention of the university. Expressing the personal and professional development she shared with the mentor honored at the ceremony; Dr. Irma Elizondo Espinoza, describing her as a great professional who supported many companies and organizations of pig producers as a nutritionist.

Subsequently, a profile of her life and career was given through an audiovisual, concluding with this, the scholarships were presented to the winning students, these being: Karla Berenice Muñoz Álvarez, winner of the MVZ scholarship. Consuelo Arana Flores 2024, Gonzalo Gutiérrez López winner of the MVZ scholarship. Ricardo Jiménez Rubio 2024 and Sarahí Montoya González winner of the MVZ scholarship. Irma Elizondo Espinoza.

To conclude the ceremony, the students recognized with the distinction of the scholarship expressed their opinion for having been selected as MAFI scholars, committing to comply with the statute of the scholarship, to carry high the name of their university, the profession and the Martha Acosta Foundation.
